David Schirmacher / Sr. Vice President, Portfolio Operations, Digital Realty

On behalf of Digital Realty, I wanted to write to acknowledge the wonderful services we received from the entire Foster Fuels team during Hurricane Sandy and the days preceding and immediately following the event.

In total, 15 Digital Realty sites were directly impacted in seven states, including Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina. During the event, we took delivery of over 176,000 gallons of fuel, consuming over 60% to operate solely on emergency generators for over 165 hours. In addition, you supported us in providing an additional 30,000 gallons to our customers who were not located in Digital Realty owned and operated facilities.

As a result of our strategic partnership and the collaboration of our teams, we are pleased to report that all sites impacted maintained 100% uptime throughout the duration of the event as we successfully supported over 9 megawatts of critical load. Our success is a direct result of your team’s coordination and perseverance in the face of extremely difficult and unpredictable conditions.

Thank you, again, for your outstanding performance and commitment to Digital Realty.

Dilek Samil / President and COO, Cleco Power

It has been three months since our recovery from the 2008 hurricane season, but Cleco power has not forgotten the tremendous support we received from your company. While the widespread damage and the number of outages were historic for our company, the response was as well. With your help, we were able to restore power quickly and safely.

Cleco genuinely appreciates your support and partnership during our recovery effort. We consider you a critical part of Cleco’s storm team, and, as I’ve told my team many times, nobody does it better.

John Formet / Sr FEMA Region IV Logistics Accountable Property Manager

I just wanted to take a moment and commend your company and the fine crew that I had the pleasure of working with during the Kentucky Ice Storms. In my short time with FEMA and working seven major disasters, I have never worked with any contracting team that was more professional and such a pleasure to work with. We faces incredible weather conditions and long hours but I never heard one complaint out of the entire crew. The only thing I heard was what can we do now and how can we better complete and make the mission a success.

1Lt Travis Michelena / JLC, Haiti

The thanks goes out to you and your outstanding crew. I handled life support for the main port in Port-au-Prince, and while Foster Fuels was present, fuel was not just taken care of, but incredibly flexible and adaptive to multiple needs. It was as easy as simply talking with your folks and they leaned forward and took care of the need.

We often get the “we need this from you” requirements from contractors who do not get the minimum to fulfill the contract, but with Foster, all I would hear is “we got it” and it would happen.

Again, I am deeply appreciative of the hard work and professionalism of Foster Fuels. We were sad to see you go, and hope to work with you again in the future.

Matt Ott / CDR, SC, USN

I am pleased to write a letter commending Foster Fuels on your outstanding response in support of the January 2010 Haiti Earthquake relief efforts. As a team member supporting Operation Unified Response, Foster Fuels was able to quickly mobilize all heavy equipment, men, and materials and integrate quickly upon arriving into Haiti’s chaotic conditions. You immediately established and sustained wide-scale, fueling operations in those harsh, tropical conditions. You and your leadership team were on station 24hrs/ 7 days a week and integrated very well into the Joint Logistics Command’s support structure through your contractual direct reporting requirements to the Defense Logistics Agency. Your ability to keep the DESC, LNO, and CORs advised while linking to the DLA HQ was outstanding.

Each of your members displayed a willingness to go above and beyond the call to ensure multiple delivery missions to facilities. You kept the principal Aerial Port of Debarkation generations filled for constant use for all Joint Warfighter’s benefit so they could meet mission. Your Emergency Response Team was prepared and again, integrated across the board with key stakeholders.

Specific to this letter, and my endorsement, I hold no position within the Defense Logistics Agency, nor am I a part of the contracting or award process. I have no stated relationship, nor have I received gifts from Foster Fuels. However, I am an advocate who was pleased to see you execute your contract, exceed the standards expected, to do so with the utmost professionalism.

Giovanni Tuck / Brigadier General, USAF Commander
